Born Avril Ramona Lavigne popularly known as Avril Lavigne burst on the popular music
scene in the year 2002 with her debut album ‘Let Go’ achieving instant
fame, stardom and recognition for her subtle vocals. Born on the 27th of
September in Belleville, Ontario Canada Avril Lavigne nicknamed ‘Avie’
started her musical career while she was only 15 years old and had the
distinction to perform alongside pop star Shania Twain while she was
only 16. Avril Lavigne became an overnight sensation as her debut album
rocked the charts worldwide and fetching
an award of the best-selling album by a female artist in 2002.
Eager to
prove her detractors wrong of being a one hit wonder, Avril’s second and
third album continued to strengthen her massive fan following and
critical acclaim. Collectively Avril Lavinge’s first 3 albums managed to a whooping sale making her one of the
top-selling artists in the US as well as UK. Music
however is not the only creative genre responsible for Avie’s millions
as she branched out for a successful career in films as well as
designing and selling her own clothes and perfumes. Avril’s clothing
label titled Abbey Dawn was originally meant to be an exclusive
collector’s item and was available at Kohl's in the United States and
Boathouse in Canada but the phenomenal popularity of her clothing line
has made Avril Lavigne revamp her business model by allowing
international shipping via her label’s official website.
Starting out as a young teenage girl in Canada to become one of the
largely successful female singers of the 21st century, Avril Lavigne has
had a roller coaster of a ride. While she earned her millions with
music and then diversified into an apparel fashion designer to a perfume
enthusiast to an occasional actor, Avril Lavigne continues to be in the
news for her lifestyle related activities. Apart from Avril’s clothing
line ‘Abbey Dawn’ which she has showcased in the New York Fashion week,
Avril Lavigne in collaboration with Proctor and Gamble released her
first fragrance titled ‘Black Star’ followed by ‘Forbidden Rose’. Amid
all the frenzy of high class couture and fragrances, music and cinema.
Avril Lavigne has associated herself actively with a number of
charitable organizations including Amnesty International, Make-a-Wish
Foundation and War Child. As a young successful role model for millions
of women, Avril Lavigne also spreads awareness about the dreaded HIV
virus and has appeared in ALDO ads with YouthAIDS to raise money to
educate people worldwide about AIDS.
Avril Lavigne entered her first serious relationship when she married
her boyfriend and lead vocalists of the band Sum 41, Deryck Whibley in
2006, after dating him for almost a year and a half. Avril’s presence in
Whibley’s life made him stay off drugs and the couple felt like happy
ever after until a mutual announcement made in September 2009 revealed
the end of their tormenting relationship in public space. Avril and
Deryck finalized their mutually acceptable divorce proceedings and were
officially divorced in November 2010.
The noted pop singer is often seen with her
black colored Marc Jacobs Moto Proto Zag Hobo bag, which comes in many
colors, but she prefers the black one. The bag features two handles with
a small logo on front and a zip pocket.
She knows how to live a fashionable lifestyle
and looks good in almost everything she wears. Many a times the singer
has been spotted in a black colored Bianca Platform Pump crafted by
Christian Louboutin, an acclaimed French shoe designer. The sandal has a
almond shaped toe with very high heels and is available in both leather
and patent styles.
Avril took everyone’s attention at the Odeon
Theatre, after she was seen wearing a black Dolce and Gabbana Satin
Gown. The off shoulder gown with a fitting bodice and a beautiful fish
tail fall looked amazing on her as it enhanced the slim waist and
height. The stunning backless dress made all eyes fixed on Avril.
In July 2013, she married fellow Canadian rocker Chad Kroeger, the front man of the band Nickelback. A very successful
entrepreneur pursuing fashion and lifestyle brand,
Abbey Dawn and two fragrances, Black Star and Forbidden Rose. In
2006 she branched into film work and lent her voice to an animated
character ‘Virginia Opossum’ from the film ‘Over the Hedge’.
